Ancient Jewelry Settings

Anyone know these are for? I looted one and can't seem to find a use for it in any schematics.

Pretty sure for making rings, but you wont find anything written.. you have to inquire within! Its very hush hush.

Also looking for information on these. I bought one to test it. No piece of jewelry needs only one Jewelry Setting, and these can't be combined with Settings from a Crate in a single slot. A couple dress require only one setting.
Is there something I am missing?
