Crystals/Pearls

New to Jedi or about to finish the Village quests. Or maybe just looking for some additional information about crystals and pearls. Well, this should be the place for you as it’ll grow into a one-stop shop for all crystal information. Fyi this is a growing topic and will be edited as I played Jedi when the game was live but just came back to the EMU. So, in essence I’m still relearning a lot of information I have forgotten.
What are crystals and pearls. They are items used to enhance your lightsabers either giving them power by changing their stats or simply giving the blade a color. You do not have to have crystals in your saber that changes the stats for the light saber to work, but you do have to have a color crystal. In this post we will talk about both and what they do for the lightsaber itself.
Where do you loot the crystals and pearls. Crystals can be looted by any mob usually of poor or fair quality on the easier killed mobs. While higher leveled mobs have a better chance to drop a higher quality crystal. Both of which are at a low drop rate. For more information about where you can loot these items. Let’s talk about the crystals that enhance or change the stats of your crafted lightsaber. These crystals will have a clear look to them, or you can get a krayt pearl which is found by killing Krayt Dragons on Tatooine. Both come in various quality ranging from poor to flawless. The better the quality of the crystal or pearl the better the stats it’ll provide to the lightsaber. Only a jedi can see what the quality of a crystal or pearl is before it is tuned. After the crystal is tuned you can see the stat modifications It’ll provide when used. The example below is from my first saber which was of poor or fair quality. It increased my damage by 6, made the speed faster by .36 and lowered the cost to health, action and force cost while using my light saber.
Pearls will have the same effects as these crystals due. They just look like this instead.
From my experience neither one is better than the other as both come from poor to flawless. Crystals however are a rare drop from any npc as I’ve looted them on Janta missions on Dantooine and while in the Squill Cave on Tatooine. Pearls as mentioned before are found from Krayt Dragons and drop more frequently. But you will need a group to kill them as they are an elite mob. On Saturdays there is a group even called Krayts and Credits run by members of the PVE guild. If want some pearls, I suggest this event as it is a lot of fun. Plus, it is a great chance at building your pearl stock while meeting other players.
Regardless of which you decide to use you will need to keep an eye on their condition. Per experience depending on what you are fighting will determine how fast the condition is changed. Basically, the tougher the mob you are fighting the faster the conditions go down. I will suggest keeping a couple spare crystals and pearls on you for the just in case situation one becomes damaged and no longer usable.
As for color crystals they look just like the clear crystal above except they will be colored for example the crystal will look purple and give the blade a purple glow. These are the only crystals that you must have in your saber for it to work.
There are a lot of colors to choose from, not just simply red, green, blue, yellow and purple like the movies. But each of those have a light and dark variant. Except for yellow which only has a dark version. There is also orange and brown as well. Along with 20 named crystals. Each of the named crystals has 2 versions as one. One with the item name just being crystal and you can see the color name only in the description. The other version and more expensive on the bizaar is where the item name is also the color name. Pictures below show both versions of the same named crystal. The blade will be the same color only difference is the item name. Fair warning if you like and want to use a named crystal for your blade. Make sure the item name is crystal as it’ll be cheaper on the bizaar. But also, once you tune it the item name will change to just crystal. Per the picture if you tune the crystal Item named Maul’s Vengance it will no longer say that.

The color crystals only change the color so there is not much to learn about them other than what they look like in game. The images below are not all of them. As I have not collected all of the colors as of yet but will update as I get new ones. So, look through the images find one that you like and want to use.
