How to help promote server growth
Re: How to help promote server growth
Yeah, another good way is if you play a different server as well, tell them man, lots of us play a few servers and most are happy to try one if someone they know says its cool.
Re: How to help promote server growth
Another way to help promote server growth would be to make sure that all information that is readily available on discord is also posted here in the forums. Given that you have to come to the website to make your account, I am certain that many (if not most) people look at the forums to see how active the forums are and use that as a rough estimate of how active the server itself is. Seeing sparse info can and will give folks a bad impression.
I played on Bloodfin EMU and one of the biggest reasons they lost so much of the player base over time was their refusal to post anything in the forums. If you were not on Facebook you were essentially lost in regards to changes, new dungeons, etc because the admins could not be bother to keep the forums updated. There are far more people NOT on Facebook than there are people who are on it. Discord is the same, and even more so. Just be mindful not to let discord hurt this server the way facebook hurt Bloodfin.

This is where you, the player base, can help.darth8875 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 02, 2018 3:40 amAnother way to help promote server growth would be to make sure that all information that is readily available on discord is also posted here in the forums. We put a lot of effort in cross posting all information to the website, forums, Discord, launcher and Facebook. I've gone as far as to automate some of it just so it's less work on the SR team and there's more available for the players. We detail everything we include in the patch notes, which is posted on all mediums, with some specifics being updated on the website as they become available.
Our limiting factor is time. I currently do the website, the launcher, almost all the graphics, phpbb (forums coding) and a lot of the content development, so I'm stretched a little thin. If there's content in Sentinels Republic that you think should be better known, write a guide for it here on the forums. If there's a loot item that you think is particularly useful or cool, write a guide on how to obtain it.
On the website, a general list of changes can be found on the Main Features page, with some specifics on the planets and what they offer on the New Locations page. A long time ago I started the Wikia, but stopped when working on content became my focus.
If anyone writes decent a guide on the forums on our content, I'd be more than happy to cross post or include it on the website / wikia. But just having them in the Players Guide section of our forums helps a great deal.
Gordlad and Avari wrote some great guides for some of the Kaas / other content. More like that would be highly appreciated.

Re: How to help promote server growth
I spoke with Coz on this the other day and thought I would put a post here. It seems swg-legends an NGE server is showing on can log in throw steam. Have the admins and the devs approached steam. Since was off the classic pre-cu which still had a great following. It could increase server population and I am not sure how they struck a deal with steam.
Well it's an option figure I would throw it out there.

Re: How to help promote server growth
All Steam is doing is providing a legal copy of SWG to those whom have purchased the game when it was previously sold through Steam, it has nothing to do with Legends specifically. You can download and validate the game through Steam to play on Sentinels Republic the same way as with Legends.Khi_Md-Phd wrote: ↑Fri May 01, 2020 9:29 pmI spoke with Coz on this the other day and thought I would put a post here. Re: How to help promote server growth
I have been helping because I have been streaming my game on twitch, a lot of people asked what server I'm on and I always direct them here with the url. Hopefully they are joining. I know one guy in my chat bought the game that night on eBay so he could play by this weekend lol. I'm willing to help!
